St. Teresa's in Bodega Dear Parishioner--
Last year St. Philip/St. Teresa churches had a Casino Night at the Parish Hall in Occidental. It was an evening of food, fun, and prizes and all who attended asked, “Are we doing it next year?” Well, as you can see, we have a date--Saturday, April 20--and anticipate this year will be even a more exciting and memorable event. We hope YOU will be attending. Call for reservations so we will be sure to make room for you. The fun starts at 6:30. What happens at Casino Night? Everyone who attends receives a Lucky Pak of chips that can be used for casino games such as blackjack, roulette and the wheel of fortune. Lucky gamblers can win even more chips and use them for chances on a number of great prizes. If you don’t care to play the table games, you can use your chips to win raffle prizes anyway. Everyone who attends will receive a free pull tab--you could win as much as $130 just for walking through the door. In addition, there will be a free chance on a special door prize--all this as part of your nominal $10 admission. Want more action? You can purchase more gaming chips and pull tabs to keep you “in the game” for the entire evening! There will be a full bar available with drinks at happy hour prices. One of the features of last year’s Casino Night that everyone enjoyed was the food--made fresh on the spot--available for purchase, from snacks and appetizers to bigger plates. A lot of those attending made a dinner from the variety of selections. This year we will have the same great caterer who will be offering “food with an Argentine flair” in honor of our new Pope from Buenos Aires! Whether you are able to attend or not, there is another way to be part of the fun. We are having a $1,000 guaranteed cash giveaway. Tickets are only $5. We have a small parish so the number of tickets sold will be small. That means your chances of winning are BIG. Enclosed with this letter are tickets for the cash drawing. You may want to buy them yourself, or sell them to friends who are feeling lucky. The drawing will be at the end of the evening at Casino Night , but you do not need to be present to win. Please send in your filled out ticket stubs and moneys postmarked no later than April 18 or bring with you to the Parish office, or after church, or to Casino Night itself. Casino night is for those age 21 and over. All proceeds from Casino night and the cash drawing go to do necessary safety and grounds repairs at St. Teresa’s and St. Philip’s. We hope to see you at Casino Night, and, GOOD LUCK1 April 20, 2013. 6:30 - ? St. Philip’s Hall - Occidental Black Jack, Roulette Wheels, Silent Auction, Prizes, Full Bar. $1,000 Cash Raffle. St. Philip and St. Teresa proudly extended it’s celebratory tradition of Ireland’s patron saint, St. Patrick. The success of the event was inevitable and fun was had by all as the church had a veteran line up of volunteers from setup and cleanup to the long day of cooking and serving and the children that delivered raffle prizes are were active helpers on the dish line. The raffle was lively and thanks goes out to all those that generously donated gifts and those that purchased tickets. (Thanks Alma for selling.) No surprise, but the team at the bar was busy and actively contributed to the festivities. The sense of community was especially warm as so many pitched in from serving the food, cleaning tables and stacking chairs. Father Allen’s brief cameo was nice in his green sweater and Irish coffee. You made the night a memorable event. Thank you to all those that contributed to the evening's activities. Don’t forget the luck of the Irish continues with our upcoming Casino night on April 20, 2013. Enjoy the games of chance and continue to enjoy the fellowship of our parish. Erin go braugh!
